Coast Guard Distinguished Service Medal

 

Authorized on August 4, 1949, the Coast Guard Distinguisehd Service medal is awarded to any person who, while servine in any capacity with the United States Coast Guard, distinguishes themselves by exceptionally meritorious service to the United States in a duty of great responsibility.
