Coast Guard Unit Commendation

Authorized by the Commandant of the Coast Guard effective January 1, 1963, this is awarded by the Commandant of the Coast Guard to any ship, aircraft or other Coast Guard unit which distinguishes itself by valorous or extremely meritorious service in support of U.S. Coast Guard operations.
