Welcome
home, Shipmates. Despite Hurricane Isabel, the wind and rain and flood,
the Class of 1963 had a wonderful 40th Reunion capped by Navy's victory
over Eastern Michigan.
Many classmates have asked our class president,
Steve Duncan, for copies of the slides and presentations used at the Class
Meeting; and remarks made at the Memorial Service.
Virtually all Class and company events were canceled
or rescheduled yet everyone met and reconnected with many classmates. Starting
on Thursday the picnic was moved from the beach to Dahlgren Hall in a smart
and successful last minute move. Friday's Memorial Service and Class meeting
were canceled and later rescheduled to Sunday afternoon and Saturday respectively.
The only big loss was the cancelation of Friday's Class Dinner Dance because
of several feet of water flooding the Marriott. On Saturday the Tailgate
inside the stadium was a marvellous success and everyone left full and
happy after Navy's 39-7 victory. Finally the Sunday brunch had to be canceled.
Individual companies stepped up to the plate and kept things moving for
their mates and personally I never heard a discouraging word.
Many thanks to Bill and Jennifer Earner and the
Reunion Committee for a fantastic job accomplished under very difficult
